Andres Durandegui – Director, Head Pro
Andres, Director of Tennis at the Reno Tennis Center, has developed several junior players over the years who have gone on to become world class players. Tiffany Eklov was ranked in the top 300 on the WTA international tour along with many other juniors that he has worked with who acquired world rankings. Prior to coming to the US to play Division 1 college tennis, Andres was a nationally ranked player in Spain throughout his junior career. Andres is USPTA certified and his expertise lies in developing sound technique for high level competitive tennis.
Paul Lam – Assistant Director, Tennis Pro
Paul, Assistant Director of Tennis at the Reno Tennis Center, has been a teaching pro for over 13 years. He has developed players of all ages and skill levels, specializing in helping juniors achieve superior levels of high school, college and tournament performance. Paul is a USPTA certified instructor who brings an unparalleled passion for sharing his knowledge and enjoyment of the game.
Phil Capozziello – Tennis Pro
Phil was born and raised in Erie, PA and began playing tennis at the age of 14 on clay courts. He received professional instruction at the Pennbriar Tennis Center and competed in local tournaments and leagues. He and his wife moved to Reno in 1999. Phil has been teaching at Alpine Tennis for over 10 years and is USPTA certified. He is involved with adult classes, the tennis academy as well as group and private lessons.
Rob Lizares – Tennis Pro
Rob was born in the Philippines and moved to Reno in 1987, where he attended Wooster High School. He has been playing tennis for 20 years and started teaching for Reno Tennis Center in 2004. Rob is USPTA certified and currently teaches the following programs at the Reno Tennis Center: Junior Team Tennis, Aerobic Tennis, and private lessons for adults and juniors.
Dane McQuivey – Tennis Pro
Dane grew up in the Reno/Tahoe area where he began playing tennis at around 10. He went on to play varsity tennis at McQueen High School. In recent years Dane has played several Nor-Cal tournaments and currently holds a 5.0 ranking. As well as being USPTA certified, Dane is in the process of finishing his bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno in order to further enhance his teaching ability and his knowledge of nutrition and fitness. Dane has been working at Alpine tennis since 2009 and has been involved in the Junior Tennis Programs as well as teaching private lessons.
